MEMOLUB® HPS

Automating Lubrication in the sugar industry.

Context

A major sugar production facility sought to enhance the efficiency of its roller mill lubrication process. The facility had been manually lubricating 256 points across its system, a process that was both labor-intensive and time-consuming. This manual approach required maintenance crews to disassemble and reassemble multiple covers, leading to significant production stoppages each time lubrication was performed.

Problem

The manual lubrication process caused frequent production interruptions. Every lubrication session required the shutdown of production tools, resulting in costly downtime. Additionally, maintenance teams were tied up with these repetitive tasks, reducing their availability for other critical interventions and affecting overall productivity.

Solution

To overcome these issues, the facility implemented an automated lubrication system on one of its mills. A MEMOLUB® HPS multipoint system with 8 outlets was installed, allowing for continuous, precise lubrication without manual intervention. The system was paired with Longtime PD 2 grease, which is known for its durability and suitability for high-demand environments like sugar production.

Results

The automation of the lubrication process yielded highly satisfactory results. Production stoppages for lubrication were completely eliminated, and maintenance crews were able to focus on other essential tasks, improving overall efficiency. Impressed with the success, the facility decided to implement the MEMOLUB® HPS system across the entire production line, ensuring better operational flow and productivity.
